Physical Activity Calendar
Every month I will upload the physical activity calendar which can be easily completed at home with little to no equipment. It is important for students to not only be physically active at school, but also at home. Every student at Elmwood receives physical education class twice a week for 30 minutes at a time for a total of 60 minutes a week.The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that children age 6 to 17 receive 60 minutes of physical activity each day. This should include aerobic activity, muscle strengthening, and bone strengthening activities. The physical activity calendars provide simple activities which can be done at home with a friend, family member, or individually. Many of the activities integrate writing, spelling, and math. The only limitations to being physically active is your own creativity.
